“First Landing Fiji Love”
Can you tell us a bit about the day through your eyes: The day was truly wonderful, we wanted it to be informal, relaxed and full of vibrancy. I loved that even though everything came down to the wire, with a wide variety of mishaps and all running on Fiji Time… there was no real stress or worry. Being accustomed to “Fiji Time”, I knew that everything would simply happen the way it happened, just as it was supposed to… and that it did. It felt normal, real and true to ourselves and our story. We hoped to include all versions of our union, all mixes of our cultures, myself with European background, and Tony with Fijian and Samoan background… everything was present, and we feel so so blessed.
What made you choose Fiji: Fiji was always our only option, as Tony is Fijian, his family all live there and it is where we met, fell in love, and began our life together. We always knew we wanted to be married in the warm tropical beauty of Fiji, somewhere near the turquoise sea, underneath coconut trees and surrounded by friends and family. Our dream came true.
What were you’re favorite moment/s of the day: I loved the boat ride to the ceremony, it was the time when I could sit back and realize there was nothing more I could do, no more calls i could make, nothing more to organize… this was it! the time was finally here for us to get married!
This is their story…
Is there any advice you’d like to give future brides in preparation for their big day: You’re in Fiji… don’t expect anything to run exactly on schedule, embrace the mishaps and unplanned events and trust that it will all go the way it will go, and it will be beautiful! Sega na lega!
Any special thanks or mentions you’d like to make: We wish to thank all our friends and family for being there, and supporting us through everything. Thank you to the crew from Hair & Makeup Perfectionist… you were exceptional, the results were beyond our furthest hopes, and thank you for being such wonderful company throughout the day! To Helava Entertainment, Vinaka Vakalevu, we cherish your friendship and admire your talent always. And to Ropate and Gitte, Kama Catch Me, there are again no words to describe our gratitude, it was an absolute pleasure and privilege to have you there with us through every step of our two special days, vinaka vinaka vinaka vakalevu.
