Giada and Nico – The Remote Resort Fiji Elopement

“We met through friends at 13 years old, after almost ten years without seeing each other we had a beer together and we knew we would be each others adventure.”

Giada and Nico are the type of couple who you can easily spend the whole day with and it feel like a breeze. Full of energy and excitement, and as the following photos will show, they have such an effortless chemistry around each other, as if they are connected in more ways than one! Originally from Italy but now living in Western Australia where Nico is a PhD candidate in Ecology dealing specifically with endangered species so it was fascinating chatting with them both about their passions and pursuits which for Giada is to become an antigravity Yoga teacher and Nico would like to be an environmental scientist.the remote resort fiji remote resort fijiA 45min flight from Nadi International Airport and you find yourself at the idyllic Island of Taveuni, here I was picked up by my good friend Sepo (larger than life character with a heart of Gold – you can contact Sepo on 9329931 if you find yourself stranded in Taveuni) who drove me to the jetty where I boarded a speed boat to the Remote Resort one of our favourite OTBP spots on Vanua Levu. It’s always of interest to us how couples find out about Fiji and for these guys this is what drew them in ‘We knew we wanted to do something private and laid back on an island in the Pacific Ocean, that has always been our dream. Fiji was the perfect destination, definitely more easy to reach from Perth, where we now live, rather than from Italy. And the Remote Resort was the perfect place, quiet and peaceful, surrounded by palm trees and the Rainbow Reef. We checked a bit on-line and on social media and decided that was definitely our place.’ the remote resort fiji Giada’s dress was from Luv Bridal in Perth, WA (see vendors list below for full details).  Giada had appointments in two different shops and as her mum lives in Italy, Giada had to choose the outfit on her own which she remarked proved somewhat difficult without mum by her side. But during the third appointment at Luv Bridal, Giada was able to video call her mum (which came as a surprise to Mum as it was 3am in Italy ha ha) but together they picked out ‘the dress’. Here’s what G had to say about the experience ‘Overall it was a great experience, and the dress was just my style! But seriously though, guys have such an easy life finding their suit!

Every wedding day has some funny story either on the day or in the build up and this was Giada’s: ‘Well, there’s a funny story and it happened on the day of the wedding. I’d brought a veil to wear, and when I was getting ready and I removed the dress from the hanger and the veil which was attached slid off the hanger and onto the floor, wanting to keep it protected I carefully put it back inside the garment bag until I was dressed.  Well…all I can say it stayed very well protected…throughout the whole day! I’d totally forgot about it and didn’t even realise it until dinner!’

‘During the wedding day our favourite moment was during the vows, saying them in English was weird cause we’re both Italians, but was so emotional with the sound of the waves and nature all around.’
