China…having never been before, the the first thoughts that came to mind were ‘Communist regime, Pollution, over populated,  City dwelling, cat and dog diners, hagglers, zero lush greenery, loud conversations (that seem like arguments), and not forgetting locals carrying selfie sticks whilst throwing up peace signs’…well there were certainly elements of that ha ha but once we got ourselves out of the big smoke and off the beaten path, this trip turned out to be one heck of an adventure after another.

Initially Len and Cherry had booked us for a Trash the Dress session here in Fiji back in October 2016, but unfortunately Cherry had fallen ill and so they had to change their plans. We were in the process of formulating a plan B when we got an invite to China to capture Lafite and Bo’s wedding in Shanghai, so we reached out to Len and asked if they’d be up for OTBP session in their homeland instead, and after some research it was decided that Longjing Tea plantation in Hangzhou would be where this adventure was to take place.

We hope that you enjoy this session as much as we enjoyed capturing it! The whole trip aided by this session has changed our perception of our Asian brothers and sisters and the vast and varying landscapes that they call home! It was certainly an eyeopening experience, an education! We have always been interested in different cultures, how they do life, what life means to them, their upbringing, religion, traditions, views on life, and being here allowed us a front row seat to all of that. The experience filled us up in ways that we didn’t expect, and can’t quite explain…just that but was positive, overwhelming, even life changing. These are the days, the moments, the encounters that we live for. The idea that regardless of where you come from that we are all connected because the language of Love is universal.
